A beautiful morning concert by Vid Shashwati Mandal tai at Toronto organized by Swar Naad .
The Concert began with Raag Asawari performed by Ritisha Hegde. She is a disciple of Shri Vinayak Hegde ji.
Then it was followed by Spell bound performance by Shashwati tai who kicked off her concert with Raag Bilakskhani Todi comprising of Paramparik Bada Khyal in Vilambit Ektaal, followed by a Drut Bandish in Ektaal composed by Pt. C.R. Vyas and Tarana in Ada Chautal by Bhavrang (Pt. Balwantrai Bhatt).
After, she sang Raag Devgiri Bilawal, Paramparik Bada khyal in Vilambit Tilwada and then a Drut Tarana in Teental by Pt. S.N. Ratanjankar.
She also presented another rare raag Sohoni Bhatiyar created by Pt. Kumar Gandharva.
I was amazed to listen to her Self Composed Tappa in Raag Charukeshi in Rupak which is rare, followed by a Drut Bandish in Teental.
She concluded the concert by Singing a Gorakhnath Bhajan in Bhairavi.
Such variations of Raag, Taal variations, undoubtedly a morning treat.
